Member Information: Gary has been turning for 2 years and is a visually impaired Navy Veteran and made Alaska his home in 1975. He ran a successful home building and remodeling company for 27 years until retirement in 2009. Instead of swinging a hammer, he now turns unique bowls on a lathe in his workshop. Gary harvests the wood (Alaskan Spruce, Alaskan Birch and Alaskan Poplar mostly) from trees grown on his homestead located on the banks of the Little Susitna River.
