Kristine Chase, along with her mother, Sharon Combs became interested in woodturning in 2004 while viewing the exhibits during the Fur Rondezvous. After speaking with some of the woodturners, both ladies joined Alaska Woodturners' Association and American Association of Woodturners.
The Association has provided Kristine with many opportunites to learn various techniques and styles that can be applied while woodturning while stressing the safety rules that should always apply. Kristine has taken several classes given by master turners who come to Alaska for the Annual Symposium.
