AWA Meetings

AWA meetings are held at Hardware Specialities, Inc.  which is located at 424 W. 54th Ave, Anchorage.  Meetings are held on the first Saturday of each month (with a couple of exceptions) from September through May.  There are no meetings held during the summer months of June, July or August.

 

The meeting in September is held the second Saturday of the month due to club activities at the Alaska State Fair.

The meeting in May is held at the AWA Annual Picnic at the Trotter estates and each year the date is announced in April.

A short business meeting begins at 10:00 am and is followed by a demonstration of woodturning by one of our members.  The entire event is usually over by 12:00 pm.

Normally a tool sharpening demo is held 30 minutes before each meeting. Members are welcome to bring their tools and have a demonstration on sharpening them, or hone their own sharpening skills under the auspices of a skilled woodturner.
